The Foundation Faculty will be responsible for teaching and mentoring first-year design students through interdisciplinary foundation studies. The role focuses on developing students’ visual thinking, creative problem-solving, material exploration, observational skills, and understanding of fundamental design principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach foundation-level subjects including Design Fundamentals, Visual Composition, Color Theory, Sketching & Visualization, Form Exploration, and Creative Thinking.
- Conduct studio-based learning and hands-on workshops.
- Mentor students in concept development and portfolio building.
- Develop assignments, evaluation rubrics, and learning outcomes.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary and collaborative projects.
- Organize exhibitions, jury reviews, and foundation showcases.
- Support curriculum development aligned with contemporary design education.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Design / Fine Arts / Visual Arts / Applied Arts or related discipline.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design preferred.
- Strong understanding of design pedagogy and studio-based teaching.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent drawing and visualization skills.
- Knowledge of design thinking methodologies.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Robust communication and mentoring abilities.
Experience 3-8 years of academic and/or industry experience preferred.
