AWS Solution Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect with 15+ years of comprehensive experience in AWS cloud infrastructure, data solutions, application development, modernization, and DevOps practices. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong pre-sales expertise and the ability to craft compelling Statements of Work (SOW) that drive business value.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

- Design and architect complex, scalable, and secure AWS cloud solutions that align with client business objectives and technical requirements
- Lead application modernization initiatives, including legacy system migration to cloud-native architectures
- Develop comprehensive architecture blueprints, technical documentation, and solution roadmaps
- Define best practices for cloud infrastructure, security, governance, and cost optimization
- Provide technical leadership across data engineering, application development, and DevOps domains

Pre-Sales & Client Engagement

- Act as the primary technical advisor during pre-sales cycles, engaging with C-level executives and technical stakeholders
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand client challenges and translate them into technical solutions
- Lead solution presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts to showcase capabilities
- Provide technical expertise during RFP/RFI responses and proposal development
- Estimate effort, resources, and timelines for proposed solutions

SOW Development & Documentation

- Create detailed Statements of Work (SOW) that clearly define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria
- Document technical requirements, assumptions, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies




- Develop work breakdown structures and resource allocation plans
- Ensure alignment between technical solutions and commercial agreements

Technical Leadership

- Mentor and guide development teams on AWS best practices and architectural patterns
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Lead cloud migration assessments and develop migration strategies (6Rs framework)
- Stay current with AWS services, emerging technologies, and industry trends

Required Qualifications

Experience

- 15+ years of total IT experience with at least 8-10 years focused on AWS cloud solutions
- Proven track record in pre-sales technical consulting and client-facing roles
- Extensive experience writing SOWs, technical proposals, and solution documentation
- Hands-on experience with application modernization and cloud migration projects

Technical Expertise

AWS Cloud Infrastructure:

- Deep expertise in AWS core services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Lambda, ECS/EKS
- Experience with AWS networking, security, and compliance frameworks
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
- Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework principles

Data Solutions:

- Experience with AWS data services: RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, EMR, Glue, Athena, Kinesis
- Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms




- Knowledge of data migration tools and strategies (DMS, DataSync, Snow family)

Application Development & Modernization:

- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and event-driven design patterns
- Understanding of API design, integration patterns, and middleware solutions
- Familiarity with modern application frameworks and programming languages

DevOps & Automation:

- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline)
- Proficiency in configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus)
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and automated security testing

Certifications Preferred

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Skilled
- Additional AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, Data Analytics, etc.)

Soft Skills

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong business acumen with ability to align technical solutions to business outcomes
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate complex client environments
- Experience leading workshops, architecture reviews, and technical discussions
- Strong documentation and technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architecture
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and ESB/API management platforms
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices
