Job Description - Quality Control Head

The QC Head is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality control processes and activities within the food industry. They ensure that all products meet the required quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer expectations. The QC Head leads a team of QC technicians and collaborates with cross-functional departments to maintain and improve product quality.

Education

- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related discipline preferred.

Experience

- 12-18 years of experience in chocolate, wafer, confectionery, or food manufacturing quality operations.
- Minimum 5-7 years in plant-level quality leadership role.
- Strong expertise in quality systems, audits, complaint management, and process improvement.
- Proven experience in team building and plant quality transformation.
- Valuable understanding of automation and modern manufacturing quality controls preferred.

Job Responsibilities

- Quality & Food Safety Management:

- Lead Quality Assurance & Quality Control operations for wafer and chocolate manufacturing.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs, quality systems, and process controls.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, and customer standards.
- Establish plant-wide quality performance monitoring and reporting systems.

- Process & Product Quality Improvement:

- Drive reduction of process losses, product defects, and rejections.
- Strengthen in-process controls and final product quality standards.




- Support process optimization initiatives with production and engineering teams.
- Implement preventive quality strategies rather than reactive corrections.

- Customer & Market Complaint Management:

- Handle customer complaints and market feedback through structured root cause analysis.
- Ensure strong CAPA implementation and preventive measures.
- Reduce recurring complaints through system and process improvements.

- Audit & Compliance:

- Lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Ensure closure of audit observations within defined timelines.
- Maintain documentation and regulatory compliance across all quality functions.

- Laboratory and Testing Excellence:

- Oversee raw material, in-process, and finished product testing.
- Upgrade laboratory practices and testing reliability.
- Ensure calibration and validation of lab equipment and procedures.

- Team Building & Leadership:

- Build, mentor, and develop a strong quality team across shifts.
- Drive accountability and ownership culture within quality and production teams.
- Conduct regular training programs to improve plant quality awareness.

- Cross-functional Collaboration:

- Work closely with production, maintenance, R&D;, procurement, and supply chain teams to maintain quality consistency.
- Support new product launches and process validations.

- Training and Development:

- Develop and conduct training programs for employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure ongoing development of the quality team's skills and knowledge.
