Job Title: Commis II

Department: Food & Beverage – Kitchen

Reports To: Commis I / Chef de Partie / Sous Chef

Job Summary

The Commis II assists in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food while ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency. The role focuses on learning kitchen operations and supporting senior chefs to deliver excellent food quality.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in preparing ingredients and basic food items as directed.

· Support senior chefs in cooking and food presentation.

· Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.

· Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.

· Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.

· Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen stock.

· Follow FIFO and stock rotation procedures.

· Reduce food wastage through proper handling of ingredients.

· Prepare mise en place before service.

· Assist during busy service periods and ensure timely food preparation.





· Report equipment issues or shortages to the senior chef.

· Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Sous Chef.

Qualifications

· Diploma or Certification in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field (preferred).

· 1–2 years of experience in a café, restaurant, or hotel kitchen.

· Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
