- Determining the most efficient sequence of operations (e.g., in fabrication:- Laser Cutting >Bending >Welding >Finishing).
- Resource & Capacity Planning (Labor Allocation , Machine Management, Capacity Analysis)
- Material & Inventory Control
- Finding ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Watching costs to ensure the production process stays within budget
- Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production
- Using market forecasts and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes
