We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Underwriting Manager to lead our US-based truck insurance underwriting team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the underwriting process for commercial trucking risks, ensuring profitability, compliance, and service standards are met. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in commercial auto/truck insurance, solid analytical skills, and a leadership background in managing underwriting teams

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of underwriters specializing in commercial trucking risks across the US.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, best practices, and procedures to ensure consistent risk assessment.
- Analyze risk exposures and pricing adequacy to maintain profitability within underwriting portfolio.
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and sales teams to develop products and manage portfolio performance.
- Approve complex or high-value submissions and provide authority oversight within established limits.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to inform strategy and underwriting direction.




- Ensure compliance with company policies, state/federal regulations, and applicable insurance laws.
- Identify training needs and provide development opportunities to underwriters.
- Drive automation, efficiency, and process improvements in underwriting workflow.
- Represent the company in broker and agent meetings, and support business development efforts.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial auto or trucking insurance underwriting.
- 3+ years of experience managing or supervising an underwriting team.
- In-depth knowledge of US transportation insurance markets, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and risk management practices.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with underwriting platforms, rating tools, and policy management systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹435,170.31 - ₹1,592,959.05 per year
