Key Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed by the treating consultant.
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment such as ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, syringe pumps, and defibrillators.
- Assist doctors during emergency procedures, intubation, central line insertion, and other critical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment records.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols, including hand hygiene and isolation precautions.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) procedures as required.
- Coordinate with consultants, resident doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.




- Educate and counsel patients' relatives regarding the patient's condition and ICU policies, as appropriate.
- Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
- Maintain adequate stock of ICU medications, consumables, and emergency equipment.
- Comply with hospital policies, NABH standards, patient safety guidelines, and quality protocols.
- Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuous quality improvement activities..
