JOB TITLE: Head Nurse

DEPT/SECTION: Nursing [Operation Theatre]

JOB PURPOSE: -Responsible for overseeing Nursing Services and Nursing Administration of Operation Theatre [O.T.] in the hospital and responsible for ensuring quality of nursing services, nursing care to the patients of hospital.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan and organize Human Resources in the O.T.

2. Overall supervision of patient flow in and out of the O.T.

3. O.T. booking, scheduling of surgeries

4. Supervise and train the Junior Staff Nurses.

5. Maintains O.T. discipline / O.T. facilities and patient setting, equipment, hygiene.

6. To assist for the surgery.

7. Scheduling duty rota and leave

8. Supervise the nursing staff in the O.T. / OT Technician / O.T. Assistant / Housekeeping.

9. Daily Inventory and record keeping of ORTHO, NEURO, CVTS, UROLOGY, ONCOLOGY

10. Listening to complaints from patients, nurses and doctors and taking measures to solve them.

11. Delegate work according to priority, responsibility and competency of the nursing staff.

12. Responsible for smooth running of the O.T

13. Ensuring safety of the patient - supervision of scrub nurse, circulating nurse, recovery room staff.

14. Reporting to the nursing superintendent././Functional Report to OT Supervisor .

15. Assist in O.T. surveillance - swabs collection, reporting, etc.

16. Responsible for supervision of segregation / disposal of waste in O.T.

17. Biomedical equipment co-ordination.

18. Co-ordination with electrical department.

19.



Co-ordination with CSSD & LAUNDRY for availability of linen as per the need.

20. Maintaining TLD badges and LEAD apron record .

21. Maintain near expiry medicine record

22. Store and pharmacy indent (weekly)

23. Maintain implant record book

24. Maintain crash cart, fridge and cidex checklist, Temperature record book.

25. Responsible for NABH OT CQI data updation and presentation

26. Responsible for monthly Antibiotics audit

27. Assist in departmental surveillance as per HIC guidelines– high dusting, swabs collection, reporting etc.

28. Ensure and encourage participation in hospital festivals and spiritual activities by staff

29. Active participate in hospital festivals and spiritual activities

30. Responsible for see the quarterly near expiry medicine checking.

31. OT- CQI presentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Educational Qualification: BSc Nursing / Diploma in general Nursing & Midwifery [Maharashtra Nursing Council] Registration is mandatory in all cases.

- Responsible for smooth running of the O.T.

· Technical skills required for using and maintaining the various equipment and the computer.

· Ability to plan & organize ones work schedule effectively

Total Work Experience: Minimum 15 + years’ experience in any reputed Hospital:

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
