Position Title: Payroll Operation Senior Analyst ML -10

Location: Bengaluru

Employment Type: Full Time

Role Overview

The Payroll Operations senior analyst (CL‑10) is responsible for end‑to‑end payroll ownership for the assigned country, supported by payroll team members. This role involves managing payroll delivery, ensuring statutory and contractual compliance, driving operational excellence, leading payroll controls, and managing both people and client stakeholders.

The Senior Analyst is also expected to support team development, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure high levels of payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction in a high‑volume, deadline‑driven environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Support end‑to‑end payroll processing for assigned countries, primarily India payroll (Team Handling exposure is an advantage).
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll execution in compliance with statutory and internal requirements.
- Perform monthly payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and error checks including:
- Duplicate payments
- Zero or negative net pay
- Input vs. output validation

- Handle payroll transactions related to tax, social security, and statutory deductions.
- Prepare and validate payroll reports and statutory outputs (e.g., Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Labor Welfare Fund (LWF), Income Tax (TDS), and statutory bonus support).
- Act as SME for payroll queries, handling L2/L3 employee issues within agreed SLAs and governance frameworks.
- Manage and support payroll systems and tools,



including data uploads, validations, testing, and reporting activities.
- Identify process gaps, risks, and inefficiencies; drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.
- Support audit readiness by coordinating payroll data, explanations, and documentation for internal and external audits.
- Ensure strict adherence to data privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.
- Support the Team Lead / Manager with daily MIS, dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting.
- Develop and strengthen QC and audit mechanisms to ensure SLA adherence and reduce error recurrence.
- Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation, SOP updates, and cross‑training to enhance team capability.
- Guide junior team members through functional support and knowledge sharing, acting as a deputy lead / go‑to expert when required.

Skills & Competencies

Functional / Technical Skills

- Solid expertise in India payroll processing, with exposure to payroll team handling.
- In‑depth knowledge of India payroll legislation and statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS, and statutory bonus).
- Proven experience executing payroll controls, including reconciliations, net‑pay validation, and duplicate checks.




- Ability to own and operate payroll control frameworks with clear documentation and governance.
- Strong capability in identifying payroll risks, compliance gaps, and control failures, and implementing mitigation plans.
- Hands‑on experience ensuring audit readiness and managing internal and external audits.
- Strong focus on data privacy, confidentiality, and information security standards.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and payroll reporting.
- Experience working with ERP / HRIS platforms such as SAP, Workday, or PeopleSoft.
- Strong analytical skills with sound judgement and decision‑making ability.

- Acts as Team Lead / senior SME, guiding team members and reviewing payroll outputs for accuracy and compliance.
- Allocates work, tracks progress, and supports timely payroll delivery across the team.
