Job Summary

Sea Blue Shipyard is seeking an experienced QA/QC to lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for shipbuilding, ship repair, and marine engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, ensuring compliance with class society requirements, customer specifications, and international standards, while leading a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead the QA/QC department and supervise QA/QC Engineers, Inspectors, and NDT personnel.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications, Class Society requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans, Method Statements, and inspection procedures.
- Monitor fabrication, welding, piping, painting, mechanical, and outfitting activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures.
- Coordinate inspections with clients, Class Surveyors, third-party inspectors, and regulatory authorities.
- Review and approve welding documentation including WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification Records.
- Ensure proper implementation of material traceability and quality documentation.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, preventive actions, and root cause analysis.
- Conduct internal quality audits and support external audits.
- Monitor quality performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure calibration of inspection and measuring equipment.
- Prepare quality reports and present quality performance to senior management.
- Train production and QA/QC personnel on quality standards and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and company policies.

Qualifications





- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in Quality Management or Welding Inspection are preferred.

Experience

- 10–15 years of experience in QA/QC within shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, marine, heavy engineering, or oil & gas industries.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience working with Class Societies and international clients is highly desirable.

Preferred Certifications

- CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 Welding Inspector
- BGAS Painting Inspector
- NACE Coating Inspector
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- ASNT Level II (VT, PT, MT, UT) – Preferred
- Lead Auditor Certification (ISO 9001) – Advantage

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, piping, coating, mechanical, and structural inspections.
- Expertise in international codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, ISO, API, ASTM, and IMO requirements.
- Experience with Class Society rules (ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, IRS, etc.).
- Proficiency in preparing QA/QC documentation and quality reports.
- Valuable understanding of NDT methods and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation software.
