The Business Logic Developer II role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and maintain business rules using the Drools DMN (Decision Model and Notation) rules engine. In this role, you will partner closely with technology, product, and operations teams to deliver scalable business rule solutions that power the Intuitive Service Portal (ISP) across global markets.
You will play a key role in modernizing business processes, driving automation, and enabling consistent customer and colleague experiences while ensuring compliance with market-specific requirements.

- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Core Java development.
- Experience working with Business Rules Engines (BRE) and Business Process Management (BPM) platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Drools and SQL.
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable solutions from concept through deployment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and simplify complex business challenges.
- Good understanding of CI/CD practices and deployment pipelines, with the ability to support code promotion and release activities across environments.
- Basic troubleshooting and debugging skills, with the ability to analyze application logs, identify issues, and collaborate with technology teams to drive resolution.
- Ability to identify issues proactively and drive resolution in a timely manner.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to evaluate impacts across systems, processes, and projects.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and accountable for delivering results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and organizational levels.
- Experience working in Agile, Secure, Scrum, or Kanban delivery environments.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and version control methodologies.
- Understanding of American Express technology and product development processes is preferred.
- Passion for system design, process optimization,



and continuous improvement.
