Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst with a minimum of 5 years of experience to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong industry knowledge, advanced problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ethical financial practices. This role requires proficiency in financial software, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting and Forecasting

- Develop, monitor, and refine annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
- Analyze variances between actual performance and projections and provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with organizational objectives.

Financial Reporting and Analysis

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management.
- Analyze financial trends, risks, and opportunities to support strategic business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory regulations.

Industry Knowledge

- Stay updated on publishing industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes.
- Apply industry insights to improve forecasting accuracy and financial planning.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making





- Identify financial discrepancies and operational inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Evaluate cost-saving initiatives, investment opportunities, and process improvements.

Communication and Collaboration

- Present complex financial information in a clear and actionable manner.
- Work closely with the Operations, Sales, and IT teams to support business objectives.

Software Proficiency

- Utilize advanced tools such as MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
- Maintain and improve financial reporting systems and databases.

Integrity and Ethics

- Maintain strict confidentiality and transparency in all financial matters.
- Ensure ethical financial practices and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

- MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, BI tools, and advanced MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in the publishing or media industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong commitment to ethics and financial integrity.

Preferred Skills

- Skilled certifications such as CFA, CMA, or Financial Modeling coursework.
- Experience in risk management and scenario analysis.
- Knowledge of Indian GAAP, taxation, and statutory compliance is preferred.
