The Role:

Tesla is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager / Manager based in India to support customs and trade matters in APAC, with primary focus on India. The role will be responsible for facilitating the timely customs clearance of goods, minimizing Tesla’s risk profile, and driving cost savings programs.

Responsibilities:

- Serve as India Customs Subject Matter Expert for any issues and inquiries raised by external or internal parties.
- Manage day-to-day India trade operations and resolve customs clearance issues.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and customs brokers to ensure efficient and timely clearance of shipments.
- Manage customs brokers’ performance.
- Assess import and export requirements.
- Identify trade compliance risks areas and savings opportunities.




- Analyze trade metrics data for management reporting.
- Ensure the accurate payments of import duties and taxes.
- Support the management of customs audits and verifications.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree with over 5 years of Customs Brokerage/Trade Consulting/In-house Trade Management experience.
- Well-versed with all trade and customs technical matters (HS code classification, customs valuation, trade schemes, incoterms, Free Trade Agreements, export controls, etc.).
- Experience working in a collaborative and cross-functional setting.
- Ability to manage tight timeline.
