Job Description – Metrologist
Position: Metrologist (Mid-Level)
Location: Nashik

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Metrologist to join our Quality Department in the automobile manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in dimensional inspection, calibration, and precision measurement of automotive components while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspection of automotive components using precision measuring instruments.
- Operate and maintain instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Dial Indicators, Surface Plates, and Profile Projectors.
- Perform calibration and verification of measuring instruments as per calibration schedules.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and customer specifications.
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspection, and final inspection.
- Maintain calibration records, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Design teams to resolve dimensional and quality issues.
- Support new product development and PPAP activities through dimensional validation.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Assist in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of dimensional metrology and precision measurement.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T;, limits & fits, and tolerances.
- Knowledge of calibration systems, MSA, and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, APQP, PPAP, SPC, and automotive quality standards.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming will be an added advantage.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
