The Bioinformatics Executive is responsible for analyzing and interpreting genomic and molecular diagnostic data generated through Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and other molecular platforms. The role supports clinicians and laboratory teams by ensuring accurate bioinformatics analysis, data quality, report generation, and compliance with laboratory quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform bioinformatics analysis of NGS and molecular diagnostic data.
- Execute sequence alignment, variant calling, annotation, and interpretation using validated bioinformatics pipelines.
- Review data quality metrics and troubleshoot sequencing or analysis issues.
- Prepare bioinformatics reports for clinical interpretation.
- Maintain genomic databases and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with molecular pathologists, geneticists, and laboratory scientists for result validation.
- Support validation of recent assays, software, and bioinformatics workflows.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with NABL, CAP, and other quality standards.
- Ensure timely delivery of reports within defined turnaround times (TAT).
- Stay updated with advancements in genomics, bioinformatics tools, and clinical databases.
Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Genetics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Certification in NGS/Bioinformatics is an added advantage.
