The FibroScan Technician is responsible for performing non-invasive liver elastography (FibroScan) procedures to assess liver fibrosis and steatosis in accordance with hospital protocols. The role involves patient preparation, accurate scan acquisition, equipment maintenance, documentation, and coordination with consultants to ensure timely diagnosis and quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FibroScan examinations accurately as per standard operating procedures.
- Prepare and educate patients regarding the procedure and obtain appropriate consent.
- Ensure correct patient positioning and maintain patient comfort throughout the procedure.
- Verify patient identity and relevant clinical history before conducting the scan.
- Generate high-quality scan results and promptly communicate findings to the treating consultant.
- Maintain accurate electronic and manual patient records.
- Ensure routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance of the FibroScan equipment.
- Follow infection prevention,
radiation-free safety practices, and NABH quality standards.
- Coordinate with Gastroenterologists, Hepatologists, Nursing, and Medical Records teams.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with hospital policies.
Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, audits, and continuous education.

Qualifications
- - Certification or training in FibroScan (preferred).
- Experience in Gastroenterology or Hepatology diagnostics is an added advantage.
Experience
- - 1–5 years of experience in operating FibroScan equipment in a hospital or diagnostic center.
- Freshers with certified FibroScan training may also be considered.
