Job Description: Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) Driver

About the Role

The Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) Driver is responsible for the safe and effective transportation of the

mobile medical unit to designated service locations. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness and

operational readiness of the vehicle, adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and supporting the medical

team during outreach and high-patient-volume scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

● Drive the MMU safely to various outreach locations, ensuring adherence to all traffic rules and

speed limits.

● Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and roadworthy at all times.

● Wear a seat belt and ensure that all passengers follow safety protocols during travel.

● Maintain and update the vehicle logbook daily, documenting travel routes, fuel usage, and

maintenance checks.

● Assist medical staff in crowd management and patient coordination during high OPD (Outpatient

Department) situations.

● Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to the supervisor.





● Ensure proper loading and unloading of medical equipment and supplies when required.

● Maintain respectful and professional behavior with team members and community members.

● Support the MMU team in basic operational or logistical tasks during outreach activities.

● Handle all data entry and MIS related to the role.

Qualifications and Skills:

● Valid and clean driving license appropriate for MMU (e.g., commercial or heavy vehicle license).

● Minimum 2 years of experience in driving, preferably in a healthcare or NGO setting.

● Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.

● Ability to read and write in [insert local language/English] for record-keeping.

● Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude.

● Physically fit and able to assist with lifting or organizing supplies if needed.

Working Conditions:

● Frequent travel to rural or remote locations.

● Long hours may be required based on outreach schedules.

● Work involves both driving and occasional physical activity.

Pay: Up to ₹18,000.00 per month
