Position: Housekeeping Manager
Location: VGP Heritage Resort, Injambakkam, Chennai

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across guest rooms, public areas, banquet halls, restaurants, offices, and staff accommodation. The role involves leading the housekeeping team, managing inventories, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage the daily housekeeping operations.
- Ensure guest rooms, public areas, banquet venues, restaurants, and washrooms are clean and well-maintained.
- Prepare daily duty rosters and allocate work efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain quality and cleanliness standards.
- Train, guide, and evaluate housekeeping staff.
- Monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for repair and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Coordinate with Front Office, F&B;, and Banquet teams for guest and event readiness.
- Ensure proper handling and control of lost and found items.
- Maintain housekeeping records, checklists, and inventory reports.




- Implement cost-control measures to reduce wastage and optimize resources.
- Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all housekeeping activities are completed before the start of operations each day.

Requirements

- 5–8 years of experience in housekeeping, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in hotels, resorts, or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Solid leadership and team management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of housekeeping chemicals, equipment, and cleaning procedures.
- Ability to prepare duty rosters and manage manpower effectively.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, Word, and hotel management software is an advantage).
