Role description

Key responsibilities

Database Administration

- Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 databases on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms.

- Manage database objects (tables, indexes, views) and storage structures.

- Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

Performance & Optimization

- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.

- Analyze query execution plans and optimize SQL queries.

Security & Compliance

- Implement and maintain database security policies.

- Ensure compliance with data protection standards (e.g., PCI, GDPR).

Maintenance & Support

- Apply patches and fix packs to DB2 environments.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

Collaboration

- Work closely with application teams for schema design and data modeling.

- Support migration projects (e.g., on-prem to cloud environments).

Documentation

- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and procedures.

Requirements:

- 6+ years of experience in DB2 Admin

- Db2 Backup, Restore, multiple data migration methods

Key Skills:

- Solid experience in IBM DB2 LUW administration.

- Proficiency in SQL, shell scripting, and performance tuning.

- Experience with high availability setups (HADR, Q-Replication).

- Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP,



AWS, or Azure) is a plus.

- Understanding of security and encryption standards.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Expertise in Db2 HADR automation (TSA & Pacemaker)

- Implementing TLS encryption protocols to secure data-in-transit across distributed clusters

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with migration projects (AIX to Linux, on-prem to cloud).

- Knowledge of WebSphere, Java application integration, and middleware.

- Certifications in IBM DB2 or Cloud Database Administration.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
