Key Responsibilities

- Develop machining processes for recent and existing components.
- Prepare process sheets, operation sheets, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, and work holding methods.
- Optimize cycle time while maintaining product quality and machine capability.
- Support production in resolving machining-related issues.
- Conduct process validation during new product development and production trials.
- Analyze root causes of machining defects and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and SCM departments for smooth operations.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through process improvements.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor tool life and recommend improvements for better productivity.
- Ensure process capability (Cp/Cpk) and support process documentation.
- Participate in PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and Control Plan preparation where applicable.
- Assist in machine capacity planning and line balancing.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality,



and company standards.

Machine Knowledge Required

The candidate should have hands-on experience in:

- VMC (Vertical Machining Center)
- CNC Turning Center
- VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe)
- HMC (Horizontal Machining Center)

Technical Skills

- Process planning for precision machined components
- Tooling and fixture selection
- Cutting parameter optimization
- CNC machining fundamentals
- Reading engineering drawings and GD&T;
- Knowledge of measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge, etc.)
- Understanding of CNC programs (basic G & M codes preferred)
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone)
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S
- Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software is an added advantage
