Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation equipment, fixtures, special purpose machines (SPMs), material handling systems, and tooling solutions based on customer and project requirements.
- Create detailed mechanical designs, assembly layouts, manufacturing drawings, and documentation for industrial automation projects.
- Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, machine components, mechanisms, actuators, and system performance.
- Design and develop fixtures, checking fixtures, packaging machines, gantries, lifters, manual and pneumatic slides, and other automation equipment.
- Select and integrate mechanical components such as motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and material handling devices.
- Ensure designs comply with GD&T; standards, manufacturability requirements, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, controls, procurement, and project management to ensure successful project execution.
- Interact with suppliers and customers to support design reviews, technical discussions, and project implementation activities.
- Participate in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Support installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities as required.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualification:
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience in mechanical design of automation systems, fixtures, special purpose machines (SPMs), tooling, or material handling equipment.
- Solid hands-on experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Sound knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design calculations and machine design principles.
- Experience in design and development of:
- Fixtures and checking fixtures
- Special Purpose Machines (SPMs)
- Sheet metal and fabricated structures
- Material handling equipment
- Packaging machines
- Gantries, lifters, manual and pneumatic slides
- Pneumatic systems
- Motor and gearbox selection
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM/PLM systems.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience in project planning, coordination, and execution.
- Exposure to global customer interactions will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Pneumatics, CAE, and Controls Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
