Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities : -
- Support different High-availability and Load Balancing solutions for servers and perform failovers and failbacks during production issues.
- Installation of system or application software in Unix/windows-based operating System.
- MS-SQL Server installation, configuration & support high availability Solutions.
- Monitoring memory, CPU utilization, disk utilization, locks, deadlocks, and runtime of queries.
- Database Security ,creating user logins with appropriate roles, dropping, and locking the logins, monitoring the user accounts, creation of groups,

o Granting the privileges to users and groups, assigning the users to groups.
- Able to manage day to day activities of the team, ensuring DBA coverage is given properly whenever need.
- Database refresh from cold/hot/RMAN backups; schema refresh from export dumps.
- Should be able to fix database issues through troubleshooting including storage, backup, recovery, and modifying custom scripts for the implementation to minimize the downtime.




- Alert management (e.g. adding or resizing data file, extents management etc..) and Undo/rollback tablespace management.
- Database backup problem review and re-execution using RMAN and crontab scripts.
- Creating Maintenance policy, Automatic Backup Jobs for SQL server, including automation process for log clean-ups and alerting DBA team in case of any errors.

o Responsible for checking daily, weekly, and monthly SQL Server backups and troubleshooting failures.
- Daily monitoring the database alert log files & trace files for any error messages for Oracle and SQL Server databases.
- Checking “Always ON” Availability groups for sync status and performing L1 activities such as sending emails to Primary DBA for any Sev1 and Sev2 incidents.
- Documenting the database setup & updating the documentation whenever there is a change in the database structure, backup strategy, etc.
