Job Position Summary:
- Current
weather observations (METAR/ SPECI, MET REPORT/ SPECIAL).
- Forecasts
(Terminal Aerodrome Forecast (TAF), Area/ Local Forecast, Route Forecast,
Take-off and Landing (TREND) Forecast).
- Warnings
(Aerodrome warnings, Warning for Light Aircrafts, Wind shear warnings,
SIGMET)
- Climatology
(Climatology of Aerodromes, Climatological Summary, Climatology of upper
wind and temperature).
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain
continuous watch of meteorological conditions affecting flight operations.
- Maintain
watch on pre-eruptive volcanic activity, volcanic eruption and volcanic
ash cloud along with information from the respective Volcanic Ash Advisory
Centre (VAAC).
- Preparation
and/or obtaining forecasts of local meteorological conditions.
- Provision
of briefing, consultation, and flight documentation to flight crewmembers
and/or other flight operations personnel.
- Meteorological
information to internal users like:
- Hourly/
half hourly current weather observations and special reports.
- RVR observations.
- Meteorological information for VOLMET
broadcasts, ATIS broadcasts, VOR broadcasts, et
- Radar and Satellite
Observations.
- METARs /SPECIs of other stations as
appropriate.
- Low level wind shear, temperature
inversions and Icing condition
- Continuously
monitor for advisories issued by Tropical Cyclone Advisory Centre,
Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre,
- Maintain
close liaison with Air Traffic Services units and local Met units.
- Analysis
and prognosis of synoptic weather charts.
- Issuance
of routine and non-routine forecasts and warning,
- Where
required briefing the Pilots, about the meteorological conditions.

Requirements
