Job Summary

The
Senior Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for managing and supervising the
biomedical engineering department to ensure all medical equipment and systems
operate safely, effectively, and efficiently. The role involves leading a team
of engineers and technicians, overseeing maintenance schedules, vendor coordination,
compliance with NABH and statutory standards, and contributing to equipment
planning and procurement decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1.
Technical Responsibilities

· Supervise
installation, calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical
and diagnostic equipment across hospital departments.

· Conduct
performance verification, safety testing, and technical evaluation of all
medical devices.

· Ensure
optimal uptime of critical equipment by implementing preventive maintenance
programs.

· Maintain
comprehensive records for equipment calibration, service history, and




performance reports.

· Collaborate
with clinical teams to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure continuous
operation of life-support and diagnostic systems.

2.
Supervisory & Administrative Responsibilities

· Lead
and mentor junior biomedical engineers and technicians in day-to-day
maintenance activities.

· Allocate
work responsibilities and prepare maintenance schedules and duty rosters.

· Liaise
with OEMs, vendors, and service agencies for equipment installation,
maintenance contracts, and AMC/CMC management.

· Monitor
inventory of spare parts, tools, consumables; raise requisitions & control
expenses.

· Assist
management in equipment procurement planning, technical specifications
preparation, and budgeting.

· Ensure
that all maintenance and service activities are documented and tracked as per NABH/hospital
policy.

· Prepare
and submit regular reports on equipment status, break
