Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications
- Fabricate mechanical components using:
- Cutting (gas cutting, plasma, shearing)
- Welding (MIG, TIG, ARC, as applicable)
- Bending, rolling, and machining operations
- Perform fit-up, alignment, and assembly of fabricated parts
- Operate and maintain fabrication equipment and hand tools safely
- Inspect fabricated components for dimensional accuracy and quality
- Follow safety procedures, company policies, and industry standards
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams
- Complete fabrication tasks within specified timelines
Experience
- 3–12 years of experience in mechanical fabrication or industrial manufacturing
- Experience in heavy fabrication / structural fabrication is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of fabrication processes and welding techniques
- Ability to read technical drawings and symbols
- Familiarity with measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, gauges)
- Basic understanding of materials, tolerances, and fabrication standards
