Application Engineer – Customer Solutions (Optical Transceivers)

Your tasks
Main tasks and duties:
- Engage with customers to understand technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
- Support pre-sales activities including technical presentations, solution discussions, product recommendations, and proof-of-concept evaluations.
- Assist customers in product qualification, deployment, and technical evaluation.
- Perform optical link engineering and solution design for telecom, enterprise, and data center applications.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and R&D; teams to support business opportunities and customer projects.
- Provide technical training and product knowledge to customers and partners.
- Collect customer feedback and market requirements to support future product development.
- Support customer visits, trade shows, workshops, and technical events.
Your profile
Education and experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4–8 years of experience in Application Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales, System Engineering, or Customer Support.
- Strong background in Fiber Optics, Optical Communication, Telecom Networks, Broadband Networks, or Data Center Infrastructure.
- Good understanding of Ethernet networking and optical transport technologies.
- Strong customer-facing and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with global customers and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with optical transceivers (SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP28, QSFP-DD, OSFP).
- Knowledge of CWDM, DWDM, Fiber Channel, and optical transport networks.
- Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, Ciena, Dell, HPE, or similar networking platforms.
- Experience supporting telecom operators, data centers, system integrators, or network equipment vendors.
Personal Qualifications:
- Responsible, reliable, accurate, analytical, and independent way of working.
- Proactive with the necessary interest and willingness to learn current things.
- Should be able to work in international, intercultural and cross functional teams.
