Role Purpose

BMW TechWorks Procurement team is seeking an experienced Procurement professional (Individual Contributor) to drive IT Indirect Procurement initiatives. The role will focus on sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management across IT categories including IT infrastructure, software licensing, cloud, and network/bandwidth services.

While the primary focus will be IT procurement, the role will also support select Non-IT categories as required.

Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to)

Procurement & Sourcing

•Manage end-to-end procurement of IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, end-user devices etc.), software licensing, cloud services, and telecom/bandwidth services

•Manage complex software licensing models (Enterprise Agreements, SaaS, subscriptions) and cloud commercial structures

•Drive RFx processes (RFP/RFQ/RFI/RFT), vendor evaluation, and sourcing strategy

•Lead commercial negotiations to achieve cost optimization and favorable contract terms

Vendor & Contract Management

•Evaluate vendor capabilities and conduct periodic performance reviews

•Lead commercial negotiations to ensure optimal pricing and terms

•Collaborate with Legal and business teams for contract review, execution, and compliance

•Manage supplier relationships and ensure SLA adherence

•Manage renewals, amendments, and vendor performance (SLA adherence)

Operational Procurement

•Review purchase requisitions, scope documents, and agreements





•Process and release Purchase Orders/Contracts ensuring cost efficiency

•Track order execution, deliveries, and resolve supplier issues (defects/replacements)

•Coordinate with Finance for timely payments as per agreed terms

•Support PR to GRN and invoice processing lifecycle

MIS, Reporting & Governance

•Maintain and publish MIS dashboards for spend analysis (by BU/category), savings tracking, and vendor performance

•Prepare and track reports such as PR status, PR-to-PO SLA, PR-to-payment SLA, open PR/PO reports

•Monitor procurement KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency

•Track and report cost savings and value delivered across sourcing initiatives

Compliance & Audit

•Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, delegation of authority (DOA), and approval workflows

•Support and ensure compliance with ISO standards, TISAX requirements, and internal/external audit processes

•Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all procurement transactions and contracts

•Participate in audit reviews and drive closure of audit observations (internal/external)

•Ensure vendor compliance with contractual, legal, and information security requirements

Stakeholder Management

•Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and internal stakeholders

•Provide procurement advisory and ensure alignment with business needs

•Engage effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams

•Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills in IT procurement (licensing, cloud, OEM ecosystem)

•Deep expertise in IT procurement, including:

oIT infrastructure and OEM ecosystem

oSoftware licensing (EA, SaaS, subscription models)

oCloud pricing and consumption models

oBandwidth and telecom services procurement

•Strong understanding of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and cost optimization levers

•Working knowledge of compliance frameworks (ISO, TISAX) and audit requirements

•Strong analytical skills with MIS/reporting experience

•Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

•Experience in global sourcing (APAC & EU regions preferred)

•Analytical mindset with focus on cost optimization and compliance

•Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure workplace

Qualifications & Experience

•Bachelor’s Degree (MBA preferred)

•10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor management
