Their main goal is to create stylish, functional pieces that align with brand and market demands.Key ResponsibilitiesTrend & Market Research: Study consumer preferences, attend trade shows, and analyze industry trends to forecast upcoming styles.Conceptualization: Develop design drafts, mood boards, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) sketches to present ideas to creative directors and stakeholders.Material Sourcing & Selection: Test and select fabrics, colors, patterns, and trims that fit both the design aesthetic and budget constraints.Prototyping & Fittings: Create clothing patterns, collaborate with pattern makers,



and oversee prototype sample evaluations and model fittings to perfect the garment's fit.Production Management: Communicate technical design specifications and tech packs to overseas or local manufacturers and monitor quality control through final production.Essential Qualifications & SkillsEducation: A bachelor's degree in fashion design, textile design, or a closely related field.Design Proficiency: Robust sketching, draping, and pattern-making skills, combined with a deep knowledge of textile properties and garment construction.Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3D CAD/fashion design programs.Business Acumen: An understanding of merchandising, fashion marketing, costing sheets, and branding strategies.
