Position Summary

Sant Memorial Public School (SMPS) is a private, English-medium school in Gurgaon for grades pre-K to 8th that was established 49 years ago with the non-profit and noble mission of providing highest quality education to students coming from low income families.

We are seeking warm, patient, and energetic Pre-Primary and Primary Teacher(s) to lead LKG, UKG, Grade 1, and Grade 2 with a solid focus on play-based, activity-led learning. The teacher will create a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment that nurtures foundational literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional skills, and curiosity in every child (ages 4–8). The role blends excellent classroom practice with thoughtful assessment, strong parent partnership, and collaborative school culture-building.

Roles and Responsibilities

Classroom Teaching & Learning

● Plan and deliver daily, developmentally appropriate lessons for LKG, UKG, Grade 1, and Grade 2 using activity/play-based methods.

● Integrate phonics, early math concepts, EVS themes, arts, music, movement, and story-telling into weekly plans.

● Differentiate instruction to support varied learning needs; use concrete materials and learning centers effectively.

● Use age-appropriate digital resources (where relevant) to support teaching and learning.

Student Well-being & Safety

● Ensure a safe, hygienic, emotionally supportive classroom; follow child protection and safeguarding norms.

● Establish positive routines and behaviour expectations using reinforcement and restorative practices.

Student Assessments

● Use regular classroom observations, aligned rubrics/ checklists, student portfolios, and holistic progress records to inform instruction and share constructive feedback with students.





Parent & Community Engagement

● Build strong school–home partnerships through regular updates, PTMs, workshops, and constructive feedback.

● Lead/participate in class events, showcases, celebrations, and community-building activities.

School Operations Support

● Support all school routines and procedures upholding all school policies and norms including but not limited to student attendance, supervision duties, examinations, school events etc.

Professional Ethics & School Values

● Uphold the school’s non-profit mission, values, child-centric philosophy, and qualified conduct.

● Work collaboratively with coordinators and fellow teachers; participate in demos, peer observations, and training programs.

● Contribute to curriculum refinement, classroom displays, and resource creation.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education / B.Ed. (preferably in Nursery or Primary Education)/

Two year Diploma in Nursery Teacher Education (DNTE).

● 2–4 years of experience teaching pre-primary or Grades 1-2.

● Strong grasp of early childhood pedagogy and developmentally appropriate practices.

● Proficiency in English and Hindi; clear, compassionate communication with young children.

● Creative classroom management; ability to design engaging activities and learning corners.

● Comfort with basic documentation, assessment, and simple data use to track progress.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹34,000.00 per month
