Job Summary





We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HIPAA / Compliance Analyst – Business Analyst to support compliance assessment and governance initiatives across healthcare and regulated environments. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in compliance posture reviews, BAA (Business Associate Agreement) pre-work activities, gap analysis, and gap register management with exposure to HIPAA and related compliance frameworks.

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, security teams, legal/compliance teams, and delivery teams to assess compliance readiness, identify gaps, and support remediation tracking.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct HIPAA compliance posture reviews across applications, platforms, and business processes.
- Perform BAA pre-work activities, including:
- Data collection
- Stakeholder coordination
- Documentation validation
- Compliance evidence gathering

- Analyze current-state processes and identify compliance gaps against HIPAA requirements and organizational standards.
- Maintain and track the Gap Register, including:

- Gap identification
- Risk categorization
- Remediation recommendations
- Closure tracking

- Coordinate with security, infrastructure, application,



and business teams for remediation follow-ups.
- Facilitate compliance workshops, stakeholder discussions, and requirement gathering sessions.
- Prepare compliance assessment reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
- Support audit preparation activities and evidence management.
- Ensure proper documentation of policies, procedures, risks, and action items.
- Work with project and delivery teams to ensure compliance requirements are embedded during implementation and transition phases.
- Assist in governance reviews and periodic compliance reporting.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements and healthcare regulatory concepts.
- Experience in:
- Compliance posture review
- BAA pre-work and documentation
- Gap assessment and gap register management
- Risk and compliance tracking

- Experience as a Business Analyst in compliance, governance, or security-related projects.
- Ability to interpret compliance requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in documentation, reporting, and compliance evidence management.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of healthcare data security and privacy practices.
- Exposure to frameworks such as:
- HITRUST
- SOC2
- ISO 27001
- NIST

- Experience with governance/risk/compliance tools.
- Understanding of cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and data protection controls.
- Familiarity with Agile project delivery methodology.
