Role Overview:
The Load Booking & Sales Coordinator is responsible for securing profitable freight, negotiating rates, and managing day-to-day dispatch operations. This role uses freight platforms like DAT and customer portals to source loads, build relationships, and ensure efficient, on-time deliveries. Acts as the central communication point between drivers, customers, and internal operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesLoad Booking & Sales

- Source and book freight using DAT, customer portals, broker boards, and direct shipper contacts.
- Negotiate rates to maximize margins and overall fleet utilization.
- Maintain strong customer relationships to drive repeat and consistent freight opportunities.
- Proactively identify new lanes, opportunities, and business growth possibilities.

Dispatch & Operations Coordination

- Assign loads to drivers based on hours-of-service, equipment type, and location.
- Track trucks in real time using platforms like Samsara and communicate ETAs to customers.
- Resolve in-transit issues such as delays, breakdowns, or detention.




- Optimize routing to reduce costs and improve delivery efficiency.
- Generate basic reports in Excel for load margins, utilization, and performance tracking.

Skills & Tools

- Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency with DAT, customer portals or broker boards, LoadStop, Samsara, and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Dry Van, Reefer, and Lowboy operations
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Experience

- 2–4 years in trucking dispatch, logistics, freight brokerage, or load booking
- Experience negotiating freight rates and booking loads on DAT or similar platforms
- Previous work with Dry Van, Reefer, and Lowboy equipment preferred
