- Dispense prescribed medicines accurately as per doctor's prescription.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
- Maintain adequate stock levels and monitor medicine inventory.
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, including temperature-sensitive drugs.
- Check expiry dates regularly and remove expired or damaged medicines.
- Provide medication counseling to patients regarding dosage, administration, storage, and possible side effects.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication-related queries.
- Prepare and maintain pharmacy reports, stock registers, and documentation.
- Receive, verify, and arrange medicines from suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, hospital policies, and quality standards.
- Assist during emergency situations by ensuring timely availability of essential medicines.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the management.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm).
- Valid Registration with the State Pharmacy Council.
- Minimum 1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
