We are looking for an experienced Managing Editor (English) to lead our English editorial department and ensure every book meets the highest publishing standards.

The ideal candidate should possess exceptional command of the English language, solid editorial judgement, and extensive experience in manuscript development, language editing, and translation. This role requires someone who can independently transform manuscripts into publication ready books while preserving the author's voice, message, and intent.

The Managing Editor will work closely with translators, editors, proofreaders, and production teams to oversee the complete editorial process from manuscript to publication.

Important Note

Candidates will be required to complete a manual editing and translation assessment as part of the selection process.

The use of AI tools, including ChatGPT, Grammarly AI, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, or similar tools, is strictly prohibited during the assessment. The assessment is designed to evaluate the candidate's own editorial judgement, language proficiency, and translation skills.

Only candidates who demonstrate strong human editing and translation abilities will be considered.

Key Responsibilities





- Lead the English editorial department.
- Edit, refine, and approve manuscripts for publication.
- Review English translations from Hindi and Marathi.
- Ensure clarity, readability, grammar, consistency, and author's voice.
- Coordinate with authors, translators, designers, and production teams.
- Maintain editorial quality and publishing standards.

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in book publishing or editorial.
- Excellent command of written English without AI.
- Experience editing self help, spirituality, psychology, or non fiction books is a plus.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
