About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Database Administration Intern to support our database management and data operations team. This internship provides hands-on experience in database administration, performance monitoring, backup and recovery, data security, and database optimization. The ideal candidate is eager to learn database technologies and contribute to maintaining reliable and efficient data systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems.
- Monitor database performance and identify potential issues.
- Support database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Help manage user accounts, permissions, and database security.
- Assist in troubleshooting database-related issues and incidents.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
- Support data migration, data validation, and data integrity initiatives.
- Maintain database documentation, reports, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to ensure database availability and reliability.

Required Qualifications

- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,



Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of relational database concepts and database design.
- Familiarity with SQL and database querying.
- Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Understanding of data security and backup concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valuable communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with database projects, coursework, or certifications.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
- Understanding of database performance tuning concepts.
