The Software Engineer will be a core contributor to the Java development of CargoMate, a cutting-edge port call optimization system that enables real-time cargo operation monitoring and enhances fuel efficiency and emission reduction. The engineer will work on using Spring Boot, Kotlin, and Java, building scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in backend software development

- Proven hands-on experience with Kotlin and Java

- Experience in Spring Boot and REST API development

- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

- Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate or JPA

- Experience in CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments

Education & Qualifications:





- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)

- Knowledge of frontend technologies like React or React Native is a plus

- Robust command over development tools, version control systems, and testing frameworks

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot

- Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and integrate them with frontend/mobile applications

- Participate in architecture discussions and conduct code reviews

- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability

- Write clean, efficient code with comprehensive unit and integration testing

- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, DevOps, and QA to define, design, and deliver new features

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing systems and optimize for performance

- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and DevOps practices
