Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Clay Model Sculptor to join our creative team. In this role, you will translate two-dimensional concepts, sketches, and digital blueprints into highly detailed, three-dimensional physical masterpieces. The ideal candidate possesses an exceptional grasp of anatomy, form, proportion, and texture, alongside a deep appreciation for traditional and cultural design elements.

You will work closely with our design and production teams to create prototypes, master models for casting, and finished artisanal pieces that reflect our commitment to craftsmanship and quality.

Key Responsibilities1. Sculpting & Prototype Development

- Translate 2D sketches, reference images, and digital concepts into high-fidelity 3D clay models.
- Sculpt intricate figures, architectural miniatures, relief panels, and decorative objects with precise attention to proportion, scale, and detail.
- Incorporate complex traditional motifs, cultural iconography, and organic textures into the physical medium.

2. Material & Tool Mastery

- Select, prepare, and manipulate various types of clay (e.g., oil-based plastiline, water-based pottery clay, or polymer clays) based on project requirements.
- Utilize a wide array of sculpting hand tools, armatures, and specialized equipment to achieve desired forms and surface finishes.
- Construct sturdy internal armatures (wire, mesh, or pipe supports) to ensure structural integrity for large or complex models.

3. Collaboration & Production Lifecycle

- Collaborate closely with design directors and production teams to refine models through iterative feedback cycles.
- Ensure sculpted master models meet the technical specifications required for down-stream processes, such as silicone molding, resin casting, or terracotta production.




- Assist the molding and casting team to ensure fine details are preserved during the reproduction phase.

4. Quality Control & Studio Maintenance

- Maintain consistency and high quality across production runs or multi-piece collections.
- Manage clay storage, moisture levels (for water-based clays), and studio tools to preserve equipment and materials.
- Adhere to studio safety protocols regarding dust management, sharp tools, and chemical usage (if handling sealants or release agents).

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Artistic Excellence: A robust portfolio demonstrating exceptional hand-sculpting skills, a mastery of human/deity anatomy, organic forms, and intricate decorative detailing.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of shrinkage rates, clay behavior, structural armatures, and the foundational requirements for multi-part mold making.
- Spatial Awareness: Ability to visualize and accurately execute three-dimensional scale changes from flat references.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in replicating specific stylistic traditions, fine textures, and crisp geometry.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, patience for iterative revisions, and the ability to work collaboratively within a creative team under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- A formal degree or diploma in Fine Arts, Sculpture, Ceramic Design, or a related field.
- Experience or strong familiarity with traditional Indian art forms, Dravidian temple architecture, iconography, or classical heritage crafts.
- Basic familiarity with digital sculpting tools (such as ZBrush) or 3D printing workflows is a plus, though the primary focus is hands-on physical modeling.

Working ConditionsThis position requires standing or sitting for extended periods while sculpting. It involves hands-on work with damp, oily, or dusty materials, requiring good manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
