Role Purpose

The Development Officer (DO) is responsible for on‑ground development and execution of palm plantation activities, with a robust focus on farmer engagement, field coordination, and plantation support. The role plays a vital part in expanding plantation coverage, improving farmer participation, and ensuring successful implementation at the village level.

Key Responsibilities

1. Farmer Outreach & Development Activities

- Identify and engage potential farmers for palm plantation enrollment.

- Conduct village visits, group meetings, and one‑to‑one interactions with farmers.

- Support farmers during pre‑plantation, plantation, and post‑plantation stages.

- Act as a primary point of contact for farmers for day‑to‑day guidance.

2. Plantation Support & Execution

- Assist in distribution of seeds/seedlings to farmers as per allocation plan.

- Support proper execution of plantation activities:

- Pit preparation

- Spacing

- Initial irrigation guidance

- Ensure farmers follow recommended plantation practices shared by the project team.

3. Field Coordination & Monitoring

- Work closely with Field Supervisors to monitor daily field activities.

- Visit plantation sites regularly to review progress and report gaps.

- Track plantation coverage, survival rate, and farmer compliance.

- Escalate challenges or deviations to the Assistant Manager / Regional Manager.

4. Awareness & Capacity‑Building

- Support conducting awareness programs and demonstrations on palm plantation benefits.

- Educate farmers on:

- Long‑term crop advantages

- Basic maintenance practices





- Importance of adherence to guidelines

- Help improve farmer confidence and adoption through consistent follow‑up.

5. Reporting & Documentation

- Maintain accurate records of:

- Farmer details

- Seeds distributed

- Area planted

- Survival status

- Submit daily/weekly field reports to reporting authority.

- Ensure data accuracy for MIS and project reviews.

6. Coordination with Internal Teams

- Coordinate with Assistant Manager / Regional Manager for activity planning.

- Support implementation of new initiatives or expansion plans in assigned villages.

- Assist during inspections, reviews, and audits conducted by management.

- Key Skills & Competencies

- Strong field presence and farmer‑handling ability

- Willingness to work extensively in rural and remote areas

- Good communication skills (local language mandatory)

- Basic knowledge of agriculture / plantation activities

- Discipline, documentation orientation, and execution mindset

Qualification & Experience

Graduate / Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Rural Development, or related field (preferred).

- 2–5 years of experience in:

- Agricultural field development

- Plantation or farmer‑based projects

- Rural outreach programs

- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Number of farmers mobilized and onboarded

- Area covered under plantation

- Survival rate during early plantation stage

- Quality and timeliness of reporting

- Farmer satisfaction and engagement level

Pay: Up to ₹35,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
