About the Role

We are looking for a proactive Production Engineer – Welding & Fabrication to manage daily production activities, supervise shop floor operations, and ensure high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in welding and fabrication processes, production planning, and team management.

Qualification:

- B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Any Welding certification (preferred)

Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily production plans as per PPC schedule.
- Ensure timely achievement of daily production targets.
- Allocate work based on manpower and machine availability.
- Monitor production progress and minimize delays.
- Coordinate with PPC to meet production priorities.

Shop Floor Supervision

- Supervise welders, fitters, and helpers during production.
- Ensure adherence to approved welding sequences and work instructions.
- Verify availability of engineering drawings before production.
- Resolve day-to-day shop floor issues.
- Maintain 5S standards and housekeeping.

Welding Process Control

- Ensure compliance with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
- Verify welding parameters, filler materials, and consumables.
- Monitor welding quality and control distortion.
- Improve welding productivity and process efficiency.

Quality Assurance

- Ensure fabrication and welding activities meet quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for inspections.
- Minimize rework through effective process control.

Productivity Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency.
- Reduce material wastage and optimize manpower utilization.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Safety & Compliance





- Ensure strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Monitor safe welding and hot work practices.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of gas cylinders.
- Maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.

Documentation

- Maintain daily production and shift reports.
- Update welding logs and consumable records.
- Record productivity data and rework details.
- Perform ERP production transactions accurately.

Required Technical Skills:

- Reading engineering and fabrication drawings
- Understanding welding symbols and welding processes
- Knowledge of WPS and fabrication standards
- Jig & Fixture knowledge
- Use of measuring instruments
- Basic AutoCAD (Preferred)
- ERP production transactions
- Solid problem-solving and shop floor management skills

Preferred Candidate Profile:

- Experience in heavy fabrication or welding manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and team handling skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under production deadlines.
- Safety-conscious with a quality-focused approach.
