1. Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute formwork activities for concrete structures (dam, powerhouse, tunnels, etc.)
- Prepare formwork schemes and sequencing
- Ensure availability of required materials, tools, and manpower
- Coordinate with planning team for execution schedules
2. Formwork & Shuttering Management
- Supervise erection, alignment, and dismantling of formwork systems
- Work with various systems (conventional, steel, aluminium, modular formwork)
- Ensure proper staging, centering, and scaffolding arrangements
- Monitor reuse cycles and maintenance of formwork materials
3. Quality Control
- Check line, level, verticality, and dimensions before concreting
- Ensure surface finish requirements are met
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspections
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and tolerances
4. Safety Management
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments for formwork and scaffolding work
- Ensure proper working-at-height safety measures
- Implement permit-to-work systems
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
5. Manpower & Resource Management
- Manage carpenters, helpers, and subcontractor teams
- Allocate workforce based on priorities
- Monitor productivity and efficiency
- Ensure proper utilization of materials and reduction of wastage.
Coordination
- Coordinate with:
- Civil execution team
- Reinforcement (rebar) team
- QA/QC department
- Safety department
- Ensure readiness before concrete pours
7. Material & Inventory Control
- Maintain records of:
- Formwork materials
- Shuttering consumables
- Monitor material usage and stock
- Implement cost control measures
8. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports
- Track formwork cycle time
- Record issues, delays, and corrective actions
- Update reports in ERP / project systems
