About
ARTPARK’s Data Science team builds AI-powered tools that help domain experts query and analyze large public datasets. We are deploying an internal web application and need a DevOps intern to own its infrastructure, CI/CD, and operational reliability.
What You Will Do
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for automated testing, building, and deployment.
Configure monitoring and alerting- uptime checks, service health, disk usage, failure notifications.
Manage production deployments- nginx, systemd services, SSL certificates, server configu ration.
Set up cloud storage sync and automated backups (AWS S3).
Build a staging setting for pre-deploy testing.
Write Dockerfiles and Docker Compose configurations for local development and deployment.
Centralize logging across multiple services (evaluate Grafana/Loki, CloudWatch, or similar).
Assist with load testing and performance baselining.
Requirements
Must Have
Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian)- systemd, nginx, SSH, permissions,
logs.
Git and GitHub- branching, pull requests, merge workflows.
Python basics- can read code, run tests, manage virtual environments.
Networking fundamentals- ports, reverse proxies, DNS, SSL/TLS.
Self-directed- can take a task description and deliver without hand-holding.
Familiarity with LLM models and GenAI tooling.
Ability to benchmark and evaluate different models (accuracy, latency, cost trade-offs).
Interest in model optimization- quantization, knowledge distillation, fine-tuning for task specific performance.
Nice to Have
Docker and container workflows.
AWSservices (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).
CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
Experience with model serving frameworks (Ollama, vLLM, or similar).
What You Will Learn
Production deployment of an AI-powered web application serving real users.
