Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Tea Factory Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery used in tea manufacturing and estate operations. The role involves ensuring smooth functioning of CTC and orthodox tea processing machines, as well as upkeep of vehicles and field equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CTC and orthodox tea machinery
- Ensure optimal functioning of withering, rolling, fermentation, drying, and sorting equipment
- Maintain and repair estate vehicles and transport equipment
- Service and repair field machinery such as spraying machines, shears, and related tools
- Conduct regular inspections to minimize downtime and prevent breakdowns
- Maintain maintenance logs and report major issues to management




- Coordinate with factory and field teams to ensure operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of machinery

Requirements:

ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field preferred

- Proven experience as a mechanic in tea factories or similar industrial environments
- Robust knowledge of CTC and orthodox tea machinery
- Experience handling agricultural equipment and light vehicles
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Ability to diagnose issues and perform timely repairs
- Willingness to work in a plantation environment near Ooty
