Position description: The role involves overseeing and managing the maintenance operations of Hydraulics and Utility systems within a leading steel and mining company. The position requires strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of Hydraulics and utility maintenance activities to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and reliability. The candidate will lead a team of technicians and engineers, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and implement best practices in hydraulics and utility maintenance to support production goals and minimize downtime. This role demands robust technical expertise in hydraulics and utility mechanics, leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a high-stakes industrial environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies for hydraulics and utility systems to optimize performance and extend equipment life.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and safety departments to align maintenance activities with operational requirements and compliance regulations.
- Monitor hydraulics and utility equipment condition through regular inspections, predictive maintenance techniques, and root cause analysis of failures.




- Plan and oversee scheduled shutdowns and turnaround maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Manage maintenance budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of spare parts and tools specific to hydraulics and utility systems.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven approaches to enhance maintenance efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards specific to hydraulics and utility operations and maintenance.
- Prepare detailed reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvement plans for senior management review.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized hydraulics and utility maintenance services and technical support.
