Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

- Handle complete BSF life cycle management (egg → egg)
- Manage and optimize adult mating, oviposition & egg production
- Lead conventional breeding programs for productivity improvement
- Apply molecular & experimental approaches for colony performance monitoring
- Develop & standardize SOPs for BSF breeding and scale-up
- Ensure colony health, biosecurity & quality control
- Maintain experimental records and prepare technical reports
- Train and guide technical staff in breeding operations

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Entomology / Agricultural Entomology / Insect Science / Applied Biology

0-1 year experience for Ph.D and 2-5 years experience for M.Sc. in:

Insect mass rearing or

Biocontrol agent production

Preferred Skills

Experience with Black Soldier Fly or other dipteran insects

Knowledge of insect reproduction & behaviour

Exposure to basic molecular techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, strain monitoring)

Hands-on experience in controlled environment rearing systems
