Job Title : Category Manager - API

Experience : 8 to 12 Years

Location : Mumbai

Roles & Responsibilities

- Define and execute category strategies for API products to drive revenue and profitability growth.

- Identify high-potential molecules and expand the API product portfolio.

- Monitor market trends, pricing benchmarks, and regulatory developments.

- Manage relationships with API manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors.

- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.

- Collaborate with sales and demand planning teams to forecast requirements and maintain inventory levels.

- Ensure availability of critical SKUs while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.

- Develop pricing strategies and monitor profitability across the category.

- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Quality, and Regulatory teams for smooth execution.

- Ensure compliance with pharma quality standards, sourcing guidelines, and documentation requirements.

- Support sales teams with product insights, market intelligence, and customer requirements.





- Track category KPIs, supplier performance, margins, and fill rates through reports and dashboards.

- Use data analytics to improve sourcing, assortment planning, and business performance.

Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA preferred.

- Strong understanding of API sourcing, procurement, and pharmaceutical supply chain operations.

- Experience in supplier management, negotiations, and pricing strategies.

- Knowledge of pharma regulations, compliance, and quality standards.

- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.

- Ability to forecast demand and manage inventory efficiently.

- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to work in a quick-paced and target-driven environment.

- Good understanding of market trends, pricing benchmarks, and category growth strategies.
