Job Summary

The Assistant Professor – Business Analytics is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, mentoring students, and contributing to academic and institutional development. The incumbent is expected to equip students with analytical, statistical, and data-driven decision-making skills through an effective blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning

- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Business Analytics and related subjects.
- Develop and update course content in accordance with the university curriculum and industry requirements.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, case studies, and assessment tools.
- Utilize modern pedagogical techniques, digital learning platforms, and experiential learning methodologies.
- Conduct laboratory sessions using analytical software and business intelligence tools where applicable.

Research & Publications

- Conduct quality research in Business Analytics and allied disciplines.
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed and indexed journals.
- Present research work at national and international conferences.
- Apply for funded research projects, consultancy assignments,



and collaborative research initiatives.

Student Development

- Mentor and guide students in academic and career development.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, internships, and capstone projects.
- Encourage participation in analytics competitions, hackathons, workshops, and industry certification programs.
- Provide academic counselling and support to students.

Academic Administration

- Participate in curriculum development and revision.
- Contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and ranking initiatives.
- Prepare academic reports, course files, and departmental documentation.
- Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
- Assist in admissions, examinations, student orientation, and other academic activities.

Industry Interaction

- Develop industry collaborations for internships, live projects, guest lectures, and placements.
- Organize seminars, workshops, faculty development programmes, and conferences.
- Promote consultancy and industry-sponsored projects.

Institutional Responsibilities

- Participate in outreach activities, extension programmes, and institutional events.
- Contribute to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and other statutory compliance activities.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Head of the Institution from time to time.

Qualifications

- MBA (Business Analytics) / MBA with specialization in Business Analytics / M.Tech / M.Sc. in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Ph.D. in Business Analytics, Management,



Data Science, Statistics, or a related field is desirable/essential as per UGC/AICTE norms.
- NET/SLET/SET qualification wherever applicable as per regulatory requirements.

Experience

- Teaching, research, or industry experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.
- Experience in curriculum development, research publications, and industry collaboration will be preferred.
- Fresh Ph.D. candidates meeting eligibility norms may also apply.

- Proficiency in MS Excel (Advanced)
- Python and/or R
- SQL
- Tableau
- Microsoft Power BI
- SPSS
- SAS (desirable)
- Machine Learning fundamentals
- Statistical analysis techniques
- Data visualization and dashboard development
- AI-enabled analytics tools (desirable)
