Job Title : Cost Accountant

Location: Coimbatore

Age: Below 45 years

Reporting To: Finance Head / Business Head

Job Purpose:

To lead costing and financial analysis functions in spinning operations by ensuring accurate product costing, cost control, profitability analysis, and supporting strategic decision-making to improve margins and overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Costing & Analysis:

- Prepare and validate yarn costing (count-wise, mix-wise, customer-wise)
- Analyze cost components including raw material, conversion, labor, and overheads
- Ensure accuracy in standard and actual costing

2. Raw Material Cost Control:

- Monitor cotton prices and consumption patterns
- Optimize mixing cost and minimize raw material variance
- Work with procurement and R&D; teams for cost-effective sourcing

3. Conversion Cost Optimization:

- Analyze power, labor, and machine efficiency costs
- Identify opportunities to reduce conversion cost per kg
- Monitor productivity (kg/spindle/day) and cost impact

4. Profitability & Margin Analysis:

- Evaluate contribution margins for products and customers
- Support pricing decisions and commercial negotiations
- Identify low-margin or loss-making products and suggest corrective actions

5. Budgeting & Forecasting:

- Prepare annual budgets and cost forecasts
- Monitor actual vs budgeted performance
- Provide variance analysis and corrective recommendations

6. MIS & Reporting:

- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly cost MIS reports
- Present insights on cost trends, variances, and performance
- Support management with data-driven decision-making

7. Cross-functional Coordination:

- Work closely with production, R&D;, procurement,



and marketing teams
- Ensure alignment between costing, production efficiency, and pricing strategies

8. Process Improvement & Cost Reduction:

- Drive cost reduction initiatives across departments
- Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective measures
- Support automation and system improvements in costing

Key Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of spinning cost structures and yarn costing
- Financial analysis and cost control expertise
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel / ERP knowledge
- Valuable coordination and communication skills

Experience Requirement:

- 10 - 15 years in spinning industry / textile costing / finance roles

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Accuracy of product costing
- Reduction in cost per kg of yarn
- Improvement in profit margins
- Budget vs actual variance control
- Identification and execution of cost-saving initiatives

Additional Expectations:

- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to handle large-scale costing operations
- Proactive approach to cost optimization
- Support strategic and commercial decision-making

Qualifications Required:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce / Finance / Textile Technology
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of costing systems and ERP tools
