Job Description: VMware Engineer

Experience: 9–14+ Years

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Customer Engagement

- Migration Expertise: Lead end-to-end VMware-to-cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-to-VMware repatriation projects.
- Architecture & Design: Deliver technical leadership on hybrid cloud architectures, disaster recovery solutions, and infrastructure optimization.
- Customer Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and IT leaders on VMware strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.
- Proof of Concepts: Design and execute technical POCs and demos to highlight VMware

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise

- VMware Mastery: 8+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere 8.x (ESXi & vCenter), VMware Aria, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, and VMware Cloud technologies.
- Cloud Platforms: Deep expertise in at least two major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with robust migration experience.
- Migration Tools:



Proficiency with VMware Cloud Foundation, HCX, CloudHealth, Turbonomic, and other migration tools.
- Infrastructure Technologies: Strong background in networking, storage, security, and data center operations.
- Automation: Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), configuration management, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications

- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher.
- Major cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
- ITIL, PMP, or other project management certifications.

Specialized Skills

- Kubernetes and container orchestration experience.
- Disaster recovery & business continuity planning.
- Hybrid cloud & multi-cloud strategies.
- Cost optimization and FinOps methodologies.
