Job Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the overall operations of the lithium battery manufacturing plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality, delivery, and business objectives. The role oversees production, quality, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, EHS, and workforce management, with a solid focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlant Operations
- Lead and manage end-to-end plant operations for lithium-ion battery manufacturing and battery pack assembly.
- Develop and execute production plans to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing targets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and resources to maximize productivity.
- Monitor plant performance and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Production & Process Management
- Oversee battery cell handling (where applicable), battery module and pack assembly, BMS integration, testing, and packaging.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, and 5S initiatives to improve productivity and minimize waste.
- Optimize production processes to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (preferred), ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other applicable industry standards.
- Maintain high product quality through process controls, inspections, and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure compliance with battery safety, EHS, and regulatory requirements.
Maintenance & Engineering
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Coordinate installation, commissioning, and maintenance of production equipment and automation systems.
- Lead continuous improvement in plant infrastructure and manufacturing technology.
Supply Chain & Inventory
- Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, and Planning teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize raw material consumption and finished goods management.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and plant personnel.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous learning.
- Conduct performance reviews, workforce planning, and training programs.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Prepare and manage plant budgets and operating costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide regular reports on production, quality, safety, and financial performance to senior management.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
