Purchase Manager – Raw Material (RM) & Packaging Material (PM)

Job Purpose

To ensure timely procurement of Raw Materials and Packaging Materials required for cosmetic manufacturing while maintaining quality standards, optimum inventory levels, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

- Source and procure RM and PM as per production requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Identify alternative vendors to reduce supply risks.

Inventory Planning

- Monitor stock levels of RM and PM.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA, and Stores departments for material requirements.
- Ensure uninterrupted material availability for manufacturing operations.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid shortages and overstocking.

Cost Control

- Achieve cost savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Conduct market analysis and price benchmarking.
- Monitor procurement budgets and control material costs.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure procurement from approved vendors only.
- Coordinate with QA for vendor qualification and material approval.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain procurement documentation and records.

Purchase Operations





- Generate and approve Purchase Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO).
- Track order status and ensure timely deliveries.
- Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, shortages, and quality concerns.
- Maintain procurement MIS reports and purchasing records.

Team Management

- Lead and supervise the purchase team.
- Set departmental KPIs and monitor performance.
- Train team members on procurement procedures and best practices.

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related field.
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience

- 7–12 years of procurement experience in Cosmetic, Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, or related manufacturing industries.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
