Job Description – Proofreader
Role Summary

Proofreaders at Educart are responsible for identifying and correcting grammatical, typographical, formatting, and technical errors in written documents by comparing them with the original manuscripts. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of proofreading standards, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Read and evaluate written content for grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors.
- Compare proofs with original manuscripts to identify inconsistencies and missing content.
- Collaborate with writers and editors to finalize document composition and formatting.
- Verify image dimensions, text spacing, layouts, and positioning according to specifications.
- Ensure page numbering is accurate and no pages are repeated or missing.
- Check whether chapter titles match the table of contents.
- Ensure illustrations, captions, and references are accurate and properly placed.




- Stay updated with grammatical developments and language terminology.
- Coordinate with authors and editors to clarify language or formatting inconsistencies.
- Forward finalized proofread materials for approval and publication.
- Check for missing technical fonts and incomplete portions in documents.

Skills Needed

- Minimum 2 years of experience in the publishing industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Valuable command of Hindi and English languages.
- Strong understanding of proofreading practices, procedures, and publishing standards.
- Proficiency in Adobe Reader and Microsoft Word for proofreading corrections.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work under strict timelines and manage multiple documents efficiently.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
